Worldopoly Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Brunchys LLC ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Worldopoly game and website at worldopoly.live (the "Game"). It is part of our Terms of Service. We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us.
- Account details: your email address, username, and password. We store only a one-way hash of your password, never the password itself.
- Messages: anything you send us, such as support requests.
Information created when you play.
- Gameplay data: your position on the map, dice rolls, properties, auctions and bids, items, in-game balances, votes, and a log of in-game transactions.
- Activity times: when you last took a game action, which the Game uses for features such as rent earned while away.
- Terms acceptance: which version of the Terms you accepted, and when.
Purchases. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number. We receive and keep a record of each purchase: what you bought, the amount, the date, and Stripe's identifiers for the payment. Stripe also receives your email address to send you a receipt. Stripe's use of your information is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Technical information. Like most websites, our servers and hosting provider automatically log technical details such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages and features you use, for security and to keep the Game running.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
- Login cookie: we use one essential cookie to keep you logged in. The Game does not work without it.
- Browser storage: the Game may store small settings in your browser, such as which leaderboard you last viewed.
- Advertising: if we show ads from third-party ad networks, including optional ads you can watch for in-game rewards, those networks may use their own cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, under their own privacy policies. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent first.
3. How we use information
- to create and run your account and the Game, including multiplayer features;
- to process purchases, deliver what you bought, and handle refunds and chargebacks;
- to keep the Game fair and secure, including detecting cheating, fraud, and abuse;
- to communicate with you about your account, purchases, and changes to the Game or our terms;
- to understand how the Game is used and improve it; and
- to comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
4. What other players and the public can see
Your username and in-game activity are shown to other players. This includes the properties you own, your position on the map, your bids, and in-game notices such as steals. Your username and rankings also appear on the public leaderboard. We never show your email address to other players.
5. How we share information
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers that run the Game for us, under contracts that limit how they
use it:
- hosting and databases (Render);
- payment processing (Stripe);
- email delivery; and
- advertising networks, if we use them.
- Map services: the map is loaded from OpenStreetMap's servers, which receive your IP address when your browser downloads map images. The "Google Maps" and "Street View" links open Google's services only if you click them.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our players, the public, or us.
- Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Any new owner must keep honoring this policy for the information it receives.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your account and gameplay information while your account exists. We keep purchase records as long as needed for accounting, tax, and legal purposes, even after an account is deleted. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to delete your account, by emailing [CONTACT EMAIL] from the address on your account. Depending on where you live (for example California, or the EU/UK), you may have further rights under local law, such as the right to data portability or to object to certain uses. We will not treat you differently for using your rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We may keep information where the law requires it or allows it, for example purchase records.
8. Children
The Game is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will delete it. Players under 18 need a parent's or guardian's permission to use the Game and to make purchases, as explained in our Terms.
9. Security
We protect your information with measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed passwords. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
10. International users
We are based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the Game or by email.
